Poetry: "Heretics"

Not much to say here besides the poem. I wrote it after I finished the Old Testament, so it's pretty easy to see where the basis of it comes from. It's not quite finished, but I'll worry about that later.

Heretics

Darkness is abroad
The people have now left their god
Turned toward the idol’s path
They’ll soon be scattered by the hand of wrath

They dwell in ignorance
Continue in abhorrence
Their king forgotten now
The one to whom they used to bow

A messenger he sends to them
To tell them what they’ve done
The heretics refuse to hear him
Seeking after him with stones
